Litany for Silver Nitrate Saints began as a poem about about photography, time, and memory that appeared in The Spring 2021 issue of Firmament.

Shortly after it was published, I decided to convert it into digital mini-chapbook. Images were incorporated and the feeling of having additional space to work with encouraged me to expand on some of the ideas in the original text. The repeated refrain after each stanza suggested a logical place to transition from page to page.

Photography was my first art and, if I hadn’t been seduced away by poetry, it might have remained my only art. I hope you download and enjoy this little litany that combines them both.
